What is a Magnificent Memories Experience?

I am delighted to have teamed up with the amazing Paige Bird from Baby Bird's Crafting Memories to give you a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.


Not only will you capture timeless portraits of your gorgeous, new baby, you will also be able to capture treasured hand and foot casts, so you really will be able to remember just how tiny they were.


Do you have an older sibling who you want to include too? No problem, just choose the older sibling option too. We can even include the whole family if you want!

One

Starting your journey

Don't forget to book as soon as you can after your 20 week scan. The best time to capture every tiny details is within the first 7 to 10 days.

Your photoshoot and casting

At my photography studio in Kings Bromley, near Lichfield in Staffordshire, you sit back and relax while I capture every tiny detail of your little baby and then Paige takes your baby's precious casts. We have everything ready for you when you arrive so you don't need to think of anything except enjoying your experience!

Three

Your bespoke gallery presentation

At the end of your session, we will chat through all the portrait and cast artwork options and then, depending on the experience you choose, I will arrange a gallery presentation appointment at a convenient time for you. Once your artwork is ready all that is left to do is to enjoy reliving your precious memories over and over again!

Here's some of the most
frequently asked questions...

  • When should we book our Magnificent Memories Experience?

    We can only take a limited number of bookings each week as we have to allow leeway for babies arriving early or late (babies often don't receive the memo about their due date!). Therefore, to ensure we capture your baby's portraits and casts when they are up to 2 weeks old we suggest you book as soon as you can after your 20 weeks scan. Once your booking is confirmed we will always make sure your session is secured.

  • How long does a Magnificent Memories Experience last?

    Everything is done at baby’s speed and the session is really relaxed. Depending on which experience you choose, we normally say allow around 3 hours.


    Every baby is different and so no two sessions are the same. We normally suggest a morning session as babies tend to be more settled in the morning but I always fit in with a time that suits mum and dad best. 

  • Do I need to bring anything with me to the session?

    I have a selection of headbands, hats and other props for you to choose from for your newborn portraits. I always chat through colour schemes before your session so I know your favourites. Therefore, you don't need to bring anything. However, if you have a favourite toy or perhaps a family heirloom blanket, do bring that along and I will try and use it. It means your session is even more personalised to you. 

    Paige also has everything you need for your casts so you won't need anything for your casts either. 

  • Is there anything I should do before the photoshoot or casting?

    If possible, if you can keep your gorgeous baby awake for a little while before your session, maybe even give them a bath, they will be super sleepy at the start of the session and it  helps a lot. If it doesn’t go to plan, do worry, I work at baby’s speed so no problem at all.

    Paige is amazing at capturing your baby's casts and so there is nothing you need to do before your casting except sit back and relax.

  • Do you include family portraits and casts?

    Yes definitely! It is so important to capture your first family portraits. You will be surprised at how many families choose these portraits as their main wall art. I recommend that mums, dads (and siblings if there are any older brothers and sisters) wear fairly neutral clothes. Either all black or all white tops work really well. You will receive lots more information nearer your session but if you have any queries before do feel free to get in touch.

    You can even include your hands in your baby casts if you wish. Just let me know if you would like to do that and we will put together a bespoke package just for you.

    If this is your second, third, or even fourth baby, we love including siblings too. Capturing those first portraits and casts of big brother or big sister with their new baby are often the most treasured of all. 

  • What should we wear for the family portraits?

    I will run through this in more details during your Zoom call before your session, but I always suggest wearing neutral, unpatterened clothes. All wearing black, white or cream tops works really well. Your portraits will only be from above the waist so wear what is comfortable below that!

  • What should I dress baby in?

    Most of your portraits will be of baby in simple wraps. If you can avoid dressing baby in anything that needs to go over their head that is perfect. Ideally if you can wrap them in blankets rather than clothes that works really well. It means we don’t have to disturb them too much if they are nice and sleepy.

    For your casting at the end of your session, either a blamket or a plain babygrow will be perfect, so baby's hands and feet are easily accessible.

  • I am breastfeeding, will I be able to breastfeed in private?

    Of course, I always allow plenty of time to feed baby and if you prefer, I can leave you in peace to feed at your leisure.

  • Do you have facilities to warm bottles?

    Yes I can easily warm bottles for you. I do recommend you bring more bottles than you would normally need as it is likely that baby will feed more during their session.

  • What if my baby has really dry skin, scratches, or milk spots/baby acne?

    No problem. Most babies will have the odd milk spot of scratch and I can edit out any unwanted blemishes post-production. Don’t worry though, you will still be able to see the gorgeous texture on baby’s skin.

  • When can we see our gallery?

    At the end of your session I will arrange a gallery presentation appointment at a convenient time for you. This is normally in the viewing room at the studio but can also be via Zoom if that is more convenient for you. I suggest you bring your diary with you to the studio session so we can confirm a date. There are also lots of artwork samples in the studio for you to look at and feel. I will run through all the options with you and you will have a product guide to take away with you. 

    We will also chat through the various options for your portrait and cast frame too.
