Reduce our carbon footprint

The studio currently uses the equivalent amount of carbon as driving three passenger vehicles for a year..I want to to reduce that!

Offset our carbon usage

So far the studio has offset the same amount of carbon used in four long haul flights and I want to continue with that!

Promote sustainability

The studio already plants 25 trees for each wonderful family who visits the studio. Let's see if we can all do a little more!

Our pledge to 'the world'

Making sure my boys and their children (and their children after) have a planet to enjoy!!!

  • To have a carbon positive impact by switching to 100% renewable energy sources by the end of 2021
  • To reduce the studio's carbon usage by 10% by the end of 2022
  • To continue carbon offsetting and increase it to 80% of carbon used by the end of 2022

Some of the things we do already!

Every small change can make a big difference!

  • All packaging materials are either recycled or reused
  • I have carefully resourced the products I offer, making sure they come from master craftsmen in the UK, who are as committed as me to sustainability
  • I now hand deliver all artwork collections, setting aside a specific day and planning my route to reduce both my mileage and reducing your mileage too
  • The studio has migrated to paper-free systems wherever possible. Most of our communications are now in digital format to reduce the amount of unnecessary paper usage and also cut down on the need to post items
  • The studio plants 25 trees for every wonderful family who visits the studio. They receive a link to be able to watch their trees grow and blossom with their little ones

So what are we going to do in 2021 and beyond?

Together we CAN make a difference!!

  • Reducing the cumulative carbon footprint by 10% by the end of 2022.
  • Positively offsetting at least 80% of the businesses carbon by the end of 2022
  • Positively offsetting 5% of my personal carbon footprint by April 2022
  • Reducing travel by 5% by the end of 2022
  • Committing to reduce 5% of my products’ carbon footprint by the end of 2022
  • Reducing single use plastics to almost zero by the end of 2022
  • Only using FSC certified card and products by the end of 2021
  • Promoting sustainability to my clients from now with continuous review.
  • Promoting sustainability through my products, with at least 10% of my products sold being eco-friendly by the end of 2022.

Sustainability Certification

I am very proud to have been awarded my Bronze Sustainability Certification with the Master Photographers Association (MPA).


The MPA are passionate about improving the sustainability of all members of the association and have put together an extensive qualification, which examines all areas of the business for climate positivity.


I am very proud of this award and will be working even harder in the coming months to achieve my Silver and even Gold award as soon as I can.
